A parathyroid adenoma is an abnormal benign tumor that causes the affected gland to release more PTH resulting in hyperparathyroidism leading to an increase in calcium resorption from bone and increased calcium levels in the blood. This eventually caused weak bones and Urinary stones with excessive urination along with abdomen and muscle pains.
Often these are asymptomatic and are detected with high serum calcium during routine blood workup.
